Spam Filter Updates - OzChess

As most members know OzChess has a spam filter. It works very well and catches around 98% of the spam, placing it in the moderator's queue out of public eye until such time as myself of Firegoat7 can address it (usually by way of simply deleting it).

But, I thought it would be nice to let members know when the 'shark net' has worked, so to speak. So this thread will do just that.

The account 'maomaochong' is now banned. This poster made 4 spam posts - all successfully caught by the filter. The posts related to dieting and world of warcraft.

Therefore, maomaochong is now

Congratulations to macmuga, the first spambot to breach OzChess' anti-spam software in several months.

macmuga is now banned

for making one spam post relating to hotel rooms at great prices (unfortunately briefly viewable by the membership).

macmuga's ip address was based in Kenya, a country we have not had spam problems with previously.

ntvinh986 has been banned. An ip address check showed the address is based Vietnam, and he was sprouting some nonsense about an animae website in his signature (suggesting he is a spammer or a spambot).

I am a little concerned he was able to answer the skill testing question about apples, especially if he is a bot and not a person.

etiza10 has been banned, ip address shows it to be a Nigerian spambot account. It made one (1) post relating to iphones for cheap prices. This post was moderated by our anti-spam software and the general membership did not see the post
