Default Heard It On The Grape Vine

Members here may not be aware of references elsewhere to activities on the Ozchess site. Ozchess frequently gets observed and commented on at the chesschat site.
The purpose of this thread is to economise on readers time spent at chesschat.
Reproduced below is anything of relevance.
The CC Shoutbox particularly needs this filtration.

On the subject of increasing post rates by paying posters to post on chesschat.

10.11.08 1.59am Jak good tactic, I think Bill should use it here!!!

Default Spotters fee pending.

This one from Bonham at 11.11.08 12.23am

An error in #26 when I wrote "the Toolbox" when I meant "the shoutbox" in reference to where Toolsie was doing his spamming for Alex Jones has been corrected.
An admission of error but no apology.
Posted here, as a public service, because of the inability of the error maker.

Pigeon, you do good work! I couldn't force myself to read through the volumes of nonsense in the CC shoutbox, so I like your highlights and greatly appreciate your efforts.

If we are in a fish bowl, it has a hell of a lot more bells and whistles than the other fish bowl

Too petty to provide one, and I love his "I meant to say blah blah blah" defence after he got torn to shreds on what he actually did say.

Anyway, keep up the good work mate!

tell xxxxxxx that you want to slow down your dribbling rate and that it would be nice if he could take up some of the slack
Keeping up the input to this thread.
Maybe he is angling for piece-rates.

Default Helping hand, or is that winged.

Curiously the poster "Carrier Pigeon" over there (really not sure who this is though I see some reasons to suspect it might be Trevor) has whinged about my failure to apologise for the above error.

Unlike many of the factual errors in the Toolbox, which may unjustly affect the reputations of individuals if anyone is foolish enough to take them seriously, the above mistyping on my part did not affect anyone's reputation.

The only consequence of it was that Alex Toolsie wasted his time shooting it down (probably desperate for an actual point against me, however minor) instead of just realising it was an obvious mistyping. Given that Toolsie (i) frequently wastes the time of others by wilfully writing nonsense about them (ii) seldom apologises for doing so following the inevitable proof that he is wrong (iii) rarely takes any real time posting anyway, usually just typing the first aggro gibberish that comes into his head, I think it's quite clear that unintionally wasting Toolsie's time is a public service and no apology for it is required.

Amusingly Toolsie then said my failure to apologise was "petty" when the request for an apology from Carrier Pigeon was genuine pettiness and Toolsie's usual me-tooing in response to it even more so!

Default Mentioned in dispatches.

Carrier pigeon? That site must be getting desprate for posts! Perhaps we should call it the "Trollbox" instead of "toolbox"
And the carrier pigeon gets to become famous too.

Default The are 10 reasons why not.

Garvin

The answer is quite simple. I had completely overlooked the DC thread and this one until today. Anyway, Shaun is posting on his blog even though overseas and may well be reading CCF too. He hasn't posted on CCF for ages (well over 12 months, nearer 2 years) because of a dummy spit so your point has little weight. Moreover, careful reading of my post will reveal that it is not really directed to Shaun. I'll give you a private tutorial on ACT chess politics if you really want to know what is, and is not, relevant. It's something that, as an ACF Councillor, you may need to know.

Default All nearly quiet on the Western front.

Although your pigeon did offer to report on chess-chat references to ozchess interests, the Pigeon does have some standards.

Thirty chesschat shouts yesterday had as high-point
17-11-2008 08:17 PM Miranda Who you think is AO

17-11-2008 08:20 PM Nexus huh

From there it was all downhill in content value.

30 posts; , economy was hampered because of a self-imposed chesschat lack of capability to link to ozchess.

No sign of Axiom at chesschat btw. I hear on the grape-vine he is in trouble for over-use of the shoutbox. Must be making an example of him.

Readers with time on their hands would be best advised to visit firegoat 7's, posting on ozchess, a compendium of the games from all teams at the Dresden Olympiad.

Default The Pigeon returns, but HOME is not HOME?

The Pigeon was quite pleased with OzChess's ADMIN's admiration for the carriage of this post.
The OzChess ADMIN. wrote an analysis of the original indiscretion posted on chesschat, and the Pigeon eagerly waited for a response on chesschat. No chesschat response has been sighted, nor have the usual pack sprung to the defence of the author of the indiscretion.

On returning here to OzChess, the Pigeon has difficulty in locating ADMIN's admiring post.

Consigned to the dustbin of history?
And let me guess the quid pro quo... a cull of Starbucks?
