Tuesday Autumn Swiss Round 5 completed
Round 5 of this interesting tournament still left us with a bye even after the influx of new players Laurence again came off the board with a 1/2point, this time joined by Kai who could not convert his bishops of opposite colours against the ever improving Kit Ming. Fludey proclaimed his loss against Rad due to his mixing up of 2 lines [are there 2 lines in the Blackmar] there by not giving his opponent a great deal of credit, but then which chess player does It was good to see Bill return to the winners list he had me worried for a while

08 BHCC Club championship
In Round 5 Geoff Saw’s now famous wriggling powers were not enough to keep out the perpetual check from the persistent Cedric Antolis; Laurence Matheson continued his remarkable run of draws. 4 in a row on Fridays, 3 in a row on Tuesdays. Vanja Rosenblat and Stephanie Ang returned to the winning list and in the battle of the sisters Savithri came out the winner against Janaki.
The draw for round 6 is up on the website:
http://www.boxhillchess.org.au
so on Friday we see the clash between master and pupil on the website: Saw v Wallis and perhaps a little reminder in the BHCC championship a play-off for the title is required when the tournament is undecided
