Few politicians have had the courage to try this solution so I am not sure this is really the case. I have been to various train stations in Brisbane to witness some idiot injecting a substance into his arm in broad daylight! These addicted fools break and enter places, rob law abiding citizens, and partake in other criminal activities. This is the reality. In my view it would be much better just to give them the narcotics in a shoot up centre and thereby put drug dealers out of business and decrease the addicts need to commit crimes to fund their drug habits. In terms of strategy it would seem to be better than hoping the police can root out the problem and would at least be worth a shot.
