I think JaK has become aware that the chesschat poster, Publicist, is the same as the Editor of the weekly newsletter and not me.

I hestitate to respond to JaK's nicely written piece to Publicist, lest the confusion (about Publicist identity) again surfaces.
Nevertheless, I need to answer JaK's reasonable question. "Why the preferential teratment?"
Apologies if my observation in regards to the gradual diminishing of BHCC and CJCC promotional material and subsequent decision to cease conveying related information from other sources, (the Club's website not excluded) in this forum here caused unforeseen dimensions of friction.

I understand your position (that doesn't necessarily means I justify it) although as a bearer of a multiple signature promoting events that i see fit at the time (including the Goons Show) I should be careful which sites and threads I am visiting.
What really intrigues me is that the confrontation here can be described as the proverbial storm in a tea cup in comparison to uproar it caused in the other Forum, which of what i was told since I was away during the climax of the events led to thread splitting, removal of posts and some very unsavory exchanges.

I think a fairer description of the promotion of BHCC/CJCC events is that at least 6 posters consistently put material in cyberspace, without any co-ordination attempt to have a consistent nor agreed narrative. It is basically a free-for-all of individual efforts.

All these concentrate on the chatboard forums.

Plus
Publicist...the Newsletter editor
SF ...the BHCC web-master

These are the current visibilities.

We seldom see input at all on the ACF newletter for our events, because it had an hiatus for quite some time. (The current ACF Newsletter Editor does an excellent job of collating from existing material anyway).

An exceptional volunteer effort keeps the BHCC/CJCC web-site up-to-date as much as content providers put forward.

So, as you can see, there are multiple outlets, multiple posters, and no co-ordination. Thus there is no favoritism. There is simply different angles to the events at our two Clubs.

The one site that remains complete with all the results is the Club web-site.

Nothing wrong with your position. It corresponds with Publicist and frankablanca

The way things look now, and I stand to be corrected if I am wrong, can be presented as: I don't like elements c, d, and e from set A, so I take my ball (read Club) I go to set B and stuff set A!
The only site with complete results is the Club web-site.
Bits and pieces appear all over the place at Ozchess, chesschat, the ACF Newsletter, Melbourne Chinese Newspapers, the Boroondarra Fuse newsletter, and various blogs.

I believe that discussion, not necessarily according to our liking, crirticism or encouragement, approval or rejection is better than silence. It is even much better than those horrible and monotonous stagnated repetitions of "results of round x and draw of round y in the www.clubofyourchoice/nowhere/000site".
Agreed.

I, confess that I refuse to even look at those pages anymore let alone follow their links and I know for a fact that I am not the only one who has wondered "can't they form a freeking sentence to make the bloody thing a bit more attractive and readable? But that's me anyway!
I have conscientiuesly tried to help not only BHCC & CJCC and other CLubs as much and in any way I possibly could. You know my love and devotion for the Club, you also know that despite our occasional disagreements the common cause prevails and will continue to prevail no matter what!
Good luck with the new website, looking forward to see it!
The new site release date would be nice around the Canterbury Summer Swiss time.
