There are no objections from me, depending on the way it is done. I do not think the spam approach would yield much fruit though, however, maybe paid advertising elsewhere would.

Chess Chat offers endless discussions by the usual suspects on whether God Exists (this discussion making up most of their Non-Chess Postings), power tripping mods who have never been legitmately elected (cf. Mugabee who was at least legitimately elected the first time he won), and limited functionality (ie. Needing to pay to use invisable mode, ugly pgn chess viewer, limited Edit and Quick Post toolbars, slower site speed than OzChess, etc.)
