At the time I do believe Mr Cordover and Mr Wastell were on the same executive, with possibly Mr Jamieson if memory serves me correctly.

Amazing they suddenly found the cash to enter into an agreement with Box Hill, but really nothing ceases to surprise me in Chess Politics.

cheers,
The tenancy of the VCA with the MCC deserves its own thread if there is anyone with a reliable enough memory to document the variations.
As an observer I visited the Elizabeth St premises (#483 perhaps), the Peel St premises (did the VCA ever move there?), and the Leicester St premises.

It is logical that it benefits chess if the VCA (now CV) is located with an affiliated chess club.
